Dates: 10/28 – 10/30
Venue: Shores of Lake Wales, Depot Museum, CSX Historic Corridor
-Pioneer Days is a festival that celebrates the founding of Lake Wales and its Pioneers.
-Activities include crafters, demonstrators, re-enactors, an Antique Car Parade, a free architectural carriage tour, entertainment and much more. The Pioneer of the Year will be announced Saturday Oct 29 at 10am during Pioneer Hour. A tribute to all Lake Wales Pioneers will also be included. There will be rides and children activities as well as food and other exhibitors. The depot museum will feature a quilt display and there will be a special reception Friday night the 28th as well as Saturday afternoon. Other historic buildings on the CSX Historic Corridor will be open to the public as well.

 Prospect Wire, Inc. – Fall Wood Bat Classic
Dates: 10/28 – 10/30
Venue: Lake Myrtle Baseball Event
-This 18+ baseball tournament is expected to bring in 45 teams (600 players) with 800 out-of-county spectators.

 Florida Youth Soccer Association – Olympic Development Training 98-99
Dates:  10/28 – 10/30
Venue:  Lake Myrtle Sports Park
-This event will bring elite soccer players from around the state of Florida to Polk County.
-FYSA is looking to identify players in the 1995-1999 boys and girls age groups.
-Applications are due by September 17, but late applications will be accepted with a fee.

 Florida ISA – Halloween Are You Scared Yet
Dates: 10/29 – 10/30
Venue: Bartow “555” Complex
-This will be an ISA qualifying tournament and is expected to bring in 150 adult participants, 450 youth participants, and 240 spectators.

IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) – 2011 World Championship

-This inaugural event was developed because the 2010 National Championship brought 392 competitors from across the country to compete and 62 competitors were from outside the US.  Registrations will be capped at 400 & final selection will be based on the points system.
