This spring will mark the Tigers 75th season at TigerTown in Lakeland, extending the longest-standing relationship between a major league team and a current Spring Training host city. To celebrate the Tigers’ loyalty to Lakeland, there will be a week’s worth of events for not only the Tigers enjoyment, but also for their fans.

65^th Annual Tiger BBQ

Every year for over 60 years, the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce celebrates the Tigers’ arrival by hosting a Tiger Barbeque, which will take place on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Joker Marchant Stadium. Tiger players and fans will mingle as they enojoy the “Famous Menu” of roast corn, shrimp, BBQ ribs, Italian sausage and char-broiled steaks you must purchase a Tiger BBQ ticket.

The Tigers Diamond Gala

The Tigers Diamond Gala is a celebrity event that will attract celebrities, members of the Tigers organization, community leaders, supporters and special guests. The Gala will take place on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Gala is an intimate and formal event boasting fantastic cuisine, libations, and celebrity entertainment at the “transformed” Las Vegas style Lake Mirror Center. The cost of tickets to the Gala is $200. To purchase tickets, click here.

16^th Annual Major League Scramble

This annual golf tournament tees off at Cleveland Heights sporting a scramble format.  Each team consists of 4 players plus a member of the Tigers organization. The Scramble will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cleveland Heights Golf Course.

Detroit Tigers vs. Florida Southern College

Join the Tigers on Friday, February 25, 2011 in Downtown Lakeland for a family event.

The Tigers open their Spring Training season by taking on the Toronto Blue Jays at Tiger Town on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 1:05 p.m. This entire game will be a 75^th anniversary celebration for the Tigers.
