Venue: The Lakeland Center
-There will be an offering of over $2550.00 in prize money. Various raffles will be held. There will be a beer garden and grill setup at the Show Hall. Tours will be available. All facilities will be in one building. ALL Specialty Clubs are invited to show with us, and the opportunity to come to a beautiful place and wonderful weather, a chance to get out of the frozen tundra in January. This event is expected to bring in over 900 participants from out of county.

Dates:  1/13 – 1/16
Venue:  Lake Myrtle
-Divisions include Men’s Open, Men’s Division 2, O30, O40, O45, O50, O55, O60; Women’s Open; Coed. (Only teams playing in Div 2 or lower may enter Men’s Div 2)
-Tournament is a 3 game minimum round robin format with games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Semi-finals and Finals on Monday.

Polk Museum of Art “Hunt Slonem Paintings” – Exhibition
Dates: 12/17-3/24
Venue: Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland
-Internationally renowned American artist Hunt Slonem will be featured in a solo exhibition at Polk Museum of Art beginning in December 2011.  Slonem, 60, has had more than 250 exhibitions at prestigious galleries and museums around the nation and world since 1977.  More than 100 museums include his work in their collections, among them the metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City and Polk Museum of Art.  He has been commissioned to paint large-scale murals, including at the former World Trade Center in New York.  Slonem received the prestigious “Stars of Design” award in art October 2009 in New York City, the Greenshields Foundation award in 1976, the national Endowment for the Arts Grant in 1991, and numerous others.  This year, Vendome Publishers will publish a monograph on Slonem that includes a 20-year survey of his work.  Slonem divides his time between Louisiana and New York.  www.polkmuseumofart.org or www.visitcentralflorida.org
