What’s Happening in Polk County This Week

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 6:30 PM – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 8:30 PM
Lakeland Flying Tigers · Lakeland
-Lakeland Flying Tigers is celebrating their 50th season of baseball. Join them for $1 nights, All You Can Eat nights, fireworks and more!
-Kids may play catch on the field prior to the game, and run the bases following the game (weather permitting).
-Lakeland vs Tampa.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
First Friday · Lakeland
-First Friday is one of the most popular recurring events at Historic Munn Park in Downtown Lakeland. -Join us for an evening of free family friendly entertainment, activities, live music, art receptions, a car show, and, of course, the chance to check out a great, locally-owned restaurant or retail establishment.
-September theme: Dog Days Downtown

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
Streamsong Challenge · Bowling Green
-This Labor Day weekend, Streamsong Resort is hosting the inaugural Streamsong Challenge. -The two-day event invites teams of two to compete in Streamsong’s three signature activities for the chance to take home an assortment of prizes.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Big Belly Barbecue Battle · Davenport
-Join Davenport for their 4th annual backyard BBQ competition. -Streets will be lined with the best local teams battling it out for first place in ribs, chicken, and pork. -Great food, live music, vendors, and door prizes!

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
Florida ISA Youth Twilight Kickoff · Bartow Park/CR 555 Recreation Complex
-Florida Independent Softball Association (ISA) presents Youth Twilight Kickoff, a youth softball qualifying tournament that expects to bring over 600 participants and spectators to Polk County. -All competition venues include parking, seating, and concessions available to spectators.
