Major League Scramble with the Detroit Tigers
Date: Monday, February 24
Venue: Grasslands Golf and Country Club, Lakeland
 The 2013 American League Central Division Champion Detroit Tigers are ready to tee it up at this 19th annual golf scramble before the Spring Training season begins.

FHSAA Boys Basketball Finals
Date:
Tuesday, February 25 – Saturday, March 1
Venue: The Lakeland Center
 The best high school boys basketball teams will participate in this year’s Florida High School Athletic Association Championships where teams in eight classes will compete for state titles.

Detroit Tigers Spring Training
Date:
Tuesday, February 25 – Friday, March 28
Venue: Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland
 The 2014 spring season marks the Tigers 78th season at TigerTown in Lakeland, extending the longest-standing relationship between a major league team and a current Spring Training host city.
– The 2014 spring season also marks the club’s 49th consecutive season of exhibition play at Joker Marchant Stadium.

Florida High School Soccer All-Star Classic

Friday, February 28 – Saturday, March 1
Venue: Lake Myrtle Sports Park, Auburndale
 The best high school soccer players from across the state of Florida will be selected to participate in these all-star match-ups.

2014 Orange Cup Regatta
Date:
Friday, February 28 – Sunday, March 2
Venue: Lake Hollingsworth, Lakeland
 The Open Invitational American Power Boat Association and The Central Florida Racing Club #208 Region 5, have partnered with the City of Lakeland & Polk County Tourism & Sports Marketing to host this annual boat racing event on the “Lake of Records”.

Spring Break Sports Lacrosse Spring Training
Date:
Friday, February 28— Tuesday, March 25
Venue: Northeast Regional Park, Davenport
 The hot new lacrosse program in Central Florida is Spring Break Sports Inc. Spring Training Program for men’s and women’s high school and collegiate teams.
– SBS has partnered with Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, who provide the fantastic North East Regional Park – a new, lit facility with six turf fields.

City to City 5K
Date: Saturday, March 1
Venue: Auburndale/Lake Alfred
Run through the beautiful Water Ridge community on Adams Barn Road between Auburndale and Lake Alfred in the City to City 5K where all proceeds benefit the Polk Training Center for Handicapped Citizens, Inc.

CrossFit Lake Mirror Open House
Date: Saturday, March 1
Venue: CrossFit Lake Mirror, Lakeland
Stop by this free open house event featuring a potluck lunch, raffles, and two free workouts spread apart with informative lectures on diet & nutrition, Olympic lifting, as well as what CrossFit is about.

FYSA ODP – Pool Training 00-01

Saturday, March 1 – Sunday, March 2
Venue: Lake Myrtle Sports Park, Auburndale
– The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is an essential program inside of Florida Youth Soccer Association that is designed to identify national team players early at the youth level and to provide development opportunities for these potential national team players.
– This ODP session is Pool Training for players born in 2000-2001.

ISA Winter Nationals Seniors (40-80)
Date:
Saturday, March 1 – Sunday, March 2
Venue: Southwest Complex, Lakeland
– Polk County will host the final series the four-weekend ISA Winter Nationals with the Seniors (40-80) division.
– The event is open to teams from across Florida as well as teams from across the country to beat the chill of winter and compete in sunny Central Florida.

Teen Masters Bowling – Lake Wales Open
Date:
Saturday, March 1 – Sunday, March 2
Venue: Kegel Training Center, Lake Wales
– The Lake Wales Open is a two-day event that will serve as one of four locations in the state of Florida with competitors trying to qualify for the National Teen Masters Championship in Las Vegas and a chance to win scholarships.

Rebel Spring Games
Date: Monday, March 3 – Tuesday, March 18
Venue: Auburndale Softball Complex; DiamondPlex, Winter Haven
More than 110 NAIA, Junior College, Division I, II and III colleges and university softball teams are expected to participate in the 2014 Rebel Spring Games tournament, with more than 500 games being held during March.
