U.S. IPSC National Championship
Dates: Thursday, September 13–Sunday, September 16
Venue: Universal Shooting Academy–Frostproof
-The 2012 United States International Practical Shooting Confederation Nationals is a National Championship that offers participants the opportunity to demonstrate their action pistol practical shooting ability.
-The top shooters will then advance to the United States Team to compete in the 2014 IPSC World Shoot.
Florida Suncoast Sports–Triple Play Classic
Dates: Friday, September 14—Sunday, September 16
Venue: Auburndale Softball Complex
-Youth baseball teams from across Florida will travel to the Auburndale Softball Complex to compete in this Suncoast Sports baseball classic.
9th Annual Cardboard Boat Challenge & Lakes Festival
Dates: Saturday, September 15
Venue: Lake Hollingsworth–Lakeland
-This family day will feature exhibitors, children’s activities, food vendors, live music and, of course, a cardboard boat race.
-This year’s theme is “Lakes awareness” because the Cardboard Boat Challenge & Lakes Festival helps raise awareness about water resources and how all must play a role in protecting them.
Fall Classic
Date: Saturday, September 15–Sunday, September 16
Venue: Bartow 555 Softball Complex
-This Florida ISA tournament is a qualifying event that is expected to bring 600 participants to the Bartow Softball Complex.
FYSA Florida State Premier League 2012
Date: Saturday, September 15–Sunday, September 16
Venue: Lake Myrtle Park–Auburndale
-Girls U14 & U17, Boys U18 will compete in this Premier League at Lake Myrtle Sports Park.
Ledger Junior Super Series
Date: Saturday, September 15–Sunday, September 16
Venue: Beerman Family Tennis Complex, Kelly Rec Center, Woodlake Tennis Courts
-This U.S.T.A. Florida sanctioned and sponsored tournament is a Super Series Tournament where State Players as well as International Players compete.
TEE IT UP For Men’s Health
Date: Saturday, September 15
Venue: Cleveland Heights Golf Course–Lakeland
- Lakeland Regional Cancer Center is hosting a free golf event, and men of all ages are invited to enjoy breakfast, screenings and learn from the center’s world-class physicians about a variety of topics.
-Participants will then enjoy 18 holes of golf.
-Participants must attend the free health fair to qualify for the free round of golf.
WABA High School/JUCO Fall Twin Classic
Date: Saturday, September 15–Sunday, September 16
Venue: Lake Myrtle Sports Park
-The World Amateur Baseball Association (WABA) will host their annual High School/JUCO Fall tournament at Lake Myrtle Sports Park over the weekend.
-Travel teams, coaches and scouts from across the state of Florida will participate in this elite showcase event.
