Posted on August 31st, 2012 by Rebecca Thompson
What do Margaritas and running have to do with each other? The 2012 Margarita Run, a race that’s “So HOT it’s COOL”! This 5k run and 1 mile walk is sure to be a good time both during and after the race.
The 2012 Margarita Run benefits Haines City Main Street. This is your chance to participate in a race, celebrate your accomplishment and help raise awareness about Haines City’s Redevelopment Plan, all in one event.
Unlike most 5k races, on Saturday, September 8, the Margarita Run’s shotgun start will begin at 5:00 p.m. Runners, walkers and friends of Haines City Main Street will run a challenging urban route that will finish at the downtown pavilion.
Racers will find a festive sunset party full of food, live music and, of course, Margaritas greeting them at the finish.
Registration, start, finish and the post-awards party will all take place at Railroad Park in Downtown Haines City.
At four o’clock on September 8, registration will open, while the start will follow shortly at 5:00 p.m. The awards ceremony and party will begin at 6:00 p.m.
