Let the games begin! The second weekend of the Sunshine State Games, Florida’s Olympic-style sports festival, comes to Polk County beginning Friday and will feature nine events this weekend. Here is the rundown of the events coming to the area this weekend:
Sunshine State Games
Dates: 6/18 – 6/20
Venue: Various Facilities County wide
- The Sunshine State Games will bring 2000 competitors to compete in 9 different sporting events here in Polk County.

Five Star Girls Team Classic – Basketball
Dates: 6/18 – 6/20
Venue: Polk State College – Winter Haven
- This event will bring in over 500 participants and 300 spectators to Polk County.
