Flying Tigers Opening Day Tonight (April 9)

The Lakeland Flying Tigers 2010 home season kicks off on Friday, April 9 at Joker Marchant Stadium when the team hosts the defending Florida State League Champion Tampa Yankees sponsored by Chick-fil-A. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm and the gates to Joker Marchant Stadium will open at 5:30 pm. Flying Tiger pitcher Mark Sorensen is expected to get the starting nod for the Flying Tigers.
The Flying Tigers will be holding a special happy hour from 5:30-7:00 pm sponsored by Bell’s Beer. There will be free specialty beer sampling and giveaways. There will also be special draft and bottled beer prices.
The first 1,500 fans that enter the ballpark will receive a free 2010 Flying Tigers magnet schedule sponsored by the Holiday Inn Lakeland Hotel & Conference Center. During the game fans will be entertained by BirdZerk, one of the wildest, craziest mascots in sports today. Following the game will be a spectacular fireworks display.
Tickets for opening day and all home games are available by calling the Tigers at (863) 686-8075. Box seats are $6 and reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under receive a $1.00 discount. Parking is free.
