Former Lake Wales basketball standout Dominique Jones had a big night Saturday as he led the USF Bulls to a win against Providence. Jones led the Bulls with 46 points in an overtime victory on the road. That was impressive enough, but Jones 46 points in the game puts him second all-time in Big East basketball for most points in a regular season game. It is also the second highest point total by a Division I basketball player this season. When you think about the greats who have played in the Big East: Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Ewing, Allen Iverson, Alonzo Mourning, Derrick Coleman, Ray Allen, and many, many more; this is quite an accomplishment.
Congratulations to Lake Wales’ own, Dominique Jones.
