Thirsty Thursday Kicks Off Flying Tigers Weekend

The Lakeland Flying Tigers return to Joker Marchant Stadium for a six-game homestand beginning Thursday, May 14 against the Florida State League north division leading Brevard County Manatees. The Clearwater Threshers will be in town for a three-game series May 17-19.
The Manatees series kicks off on Thursday with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00 pm. Gates to Joker Marchant Stadium will open at 6:00 pm. Fans can enjoy $1 beers and sodas. The Flying Tigers will also be celebrating USO night and the team will play in their special camo jerseys.
Game two of the series is scheduled for Friday, May 15 at 7:00 pm. The Flying Tigers will be giving away 2009 Flying Tigers team posters to the first 1,000 paid fans. Kids eat free on all Friday home games as well. All kids 14 and under will receive a free hot dog, soda and bag of chips. The Flying Tigers have partnered with the SPCA for “Bark in the Park” Night. There will be special contests and prizes for dogs and owners.
The series concludes on Saturday when the Flying Tigers battle the Manatees at 6:00 pm. Gates will open at 4:30 pm. It’s Bright House Networks Annual Customer Appreciation Night. All Bright House customers will receive free admission to the game for their household by showing their statement at the ticket office. The Flying Tigers will also have a special Armed Forces Day celebration. Following the game will be a spectacular post fireworks show sponsored by The Ledger.
Tickets for the homestand and all home games are available by calling the Flying Tigers at (863) 686-8075. Box seats are $6 and reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under receive a $1.00 discount. Saturday tickets are an additional $1. Parking is free.
