This weekend is your last chance to catch the Lakeland Flying Tigers until next April, so get out to Joker Marchant Stadium and see the Detroit Tiger stars of tomorrow before it is too late. The Flying Tigers have a lot going on this weekend at the ballpark for fans as they close the season with “Fan Appreciation Weekend”. Here is a list (a long one–because there really is so much going on) of everything you can experience at Joker Marchant Stadium all weekend. And, oh by the way, there will be baseball games taking place too. The Clearwater Threshers will be in town.

Friday

  • The last kids eat free night of the season – All paid kids (14 and under) will receive a coupon good for one free hot dog and soda.
  • Friday will also be Faith Night – All church affiliated youth groups will receive free admission along with a free hot dog and soda.  Church members can purchase tickets for only $3, however food and drink are not included.
  • Bark in the Park!- Dog owners can pre-register through the Lakeland SPCA for a chance to win $20,000, for a chance to throw out the first pitch, and for the opportunity to participate in contests! Tickets for dog owners can be purchased in advance through the SPCA for only $5 a ticket.  Dog passes are available for a $1 donation to the SPCA.  50 percent of all SPCA advanced ticket sales will benefit the Lakeland animal shelter.  Tickets can also be purchased through the Flying Tigers.

Saturday

  • The last Skyrocket Saturday of the season is scheduled for Saturday.  The Flying Tigers will take the field at 6:00 p.m.  Fireworks will explode into the sky after the conclusion of the game courtesy of 97 Country WPCV and The Ledger (weather permitting).

  •  Once the gates open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, all fans are invited to take pictures with their favorite Flying Tigers on the field as part of Picture Night!  Fans must bring their own camera and may only take one picture per player.  Autographs will not be allowed.
  • Be sure to wear your favorite football team’s jersey in celebration of Football Night on Saturday!  There will be music, on-field promotions, and more to help kick off the football season.
